      I just had to make a link here to what looks like an extraordinary resource: Pattern in Islamic Art. There are collected in one site thousands of images of Islamic decorative artwork from a variety of sources, all copyright free and available for download. You can search for architectural samples by region, illustrations  and diagrams from published works, historical samples from museum collections and more. Too much to see… an incredible resource.
